	S65/S85 main bearings are available in three different size thicknesses. These different thicknesses are differentiated by color codes on the bearing shells. The three color codes are Violet (thickest), Green (nominal), and Yellow (thinnest). ~~The different thicknesses allow~~ the ~~builder~~ to ~~"dial~~ in" the bearing clearance.<p></p>		S65/S85 main bearings are available in three different size thicknesses. By mixing and matching the main bearing shells, it's possible to adjust the clearance in approximately 0.00012 inch increments. BMW still doesn't tell us the bearing clearance target. However, they do tell us which bearings to use for what size main journal.<p></p>

			There are three colors, giving six different possible combinations. To use this table, measure your crankshaft main journals. Match the journal diameter with the sizes in Columns three or four (metric or SAE). Choose the bearing color from column-1 (bottom shell) and column-2 (top shell).
